R. N. G. Patel Institute of Technology functions as Nodal Institute for Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the co-ordinatorship of Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari . Faculty of Technology, Dharmsinh desai university formerly known as DDIT is Anchor Institute-Chemicals & Petrochemicals sector. Anchor Institute-Chemicals & Petrochemicals is promoted by Industries Commissionerate, Government of Gujarat. The objective of the nodal institute and its associates is to take various initiatives in creating readily employable and industry responsive man power, at all level for Chemicals & Petro chemicals sector across the state.

• RNGPIT has utilized grant of Rs. 26 lacs as capital investment and developed a state of art Process Automation Lab, Chem-CAD laboratory and Nodal Training Centre with seating capacity of 150 in collaboration with Nodal Institute, DDU, Nadiad.
• On the Evaluation of performance of Nodal Institute, CED-Gandhinagar has also sanctioned grant Rs. 15 lacs as a capital grant for the development of Research lab in the field of Chemicals & Petrochemicals Sector.
• RNGPIT regularly organize workshops, Short term and Long term Training programs in association with Anchor institute, DDU, Nadiad, for the students, faculty members and industries in the region and well accepted by all.
