SHREE BABUBHAI VANMALIBHAI PATEL

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Education society marks the inception of its journey with the starting of N.G. Patel polytechnic Institute (NGPP) in 1997. NGPP has grown by manifolds with the passing years and with the support of Management, Donors, Principal, Faculties, Staff Members and Students. This progress supported the management vision to start the Degree College in same campus. So, the Degree College presently known as R.N.G. Patel Institute of Technology (RNGPIT) was started in the year 2010.

I am very much glad to acknowledge that 75% of NGPP courses and 60% RNGPIT courses have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. Also, we have the Hansaben Punnawala Vocational Training Centre (HPVTC) in the campus having 14 state of the art laboratories catering the need of skill development and where four vocational programs are being carried out. We have established a SAP supported Centre of Excellence in our institute where SAP certified programs are being carried out, free of cost for the better placement of students and training is provided by Industry experts. Our Institute is also selected as a training partner for the Vayumitra Skill Development Program under the flagship of National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), Chennai and sponsored by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.

I feel very proud to announce that RNGPIT has implemented 5S methodology and achieved “5S-Workplace Management System” certification and became the 2nd Institute in India holding 5S certification by Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Secundrabad. We have developed two Environment Audit Consultancy (EAC) Laboratory and Civil Material Testing Laboratory (CMTL). EAC Laboratory of Chemical Engineering Department is recognized as Schedule-I Environmental Auditor as approved by Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Gandhinagar. CMTL has been approved by Gujarat Engineering Research Institute (GERI) Vadodara. All these laboratories have been accredited as per National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).

I am extremely delighted to say that India’s first Common Engineering Facility Centre (CEFC) is established at RNGPIT College Campus. CEFC is a collaborative effort between RNGPIT, The Textile Machinery Manufacturing Association, Mumbai, Department of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Heavy Industries under The Government of India, Surat Engineering Vikas Association and The Industries Commissionerate of The Government of Gujarat. CEFC presents the state-of-the-art machinery across its five major departments: Design Centre, Prototype Development Centre, Training Centre, and Testing and Calibration Laboratory, all geared towards supporting India’s textile, diamond, and automobile industries. The primary goal of CEFC is to provide Design and R&D support to MSME industries and offer Skill Development training to students from ITI, Polytechnic, and Degree Engineering institutes. With its world-class infrastructure, CEFC has identified over 50 training modules, as designed by the Capital Goods sector council of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

RNGPIT teaches its students to ingrain innovation as a way of thinking that governs every aspects of life thereby to faster growth of technology. To explore the proficiency and skill of students and to provide them an extensive platform, every year the institute organizes an inter-college state level technical festival “Visvesmruti”. These types of events enhances the hands-on-skill experience of our young generation, and is very beneficial for improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural areas. It also contributes to Clean India, Green India”.

I heartily appreciate the sincere efforts our fellow Management members, Principals of both Institutes, Head of Departments, Faculties, Staff members and all students for their sincere dedication towards the growth of both Institutes.
