Dr. K. B. Rathod has completed PhD (Mechanical) from SVNIT, Surat in the year 2017. He started his career from Industry and worked for 2 years (1994-1996) then he started his career as an academician (Adhoc lecutrer) from SVRCET, Surat (August 1996 to November 1999). He worked as lecturer at N. G. Patel Polytechnic, Isroli from december 1999 to July 2005. He also worked as HOD and Principal at S.S.Polytechnic college, Visnagar from July 2005 to June 2006. After that, he joind as Assistant Professor at SPCE, Visnagar (July 2006-November 2011). At present, He is working as an Associate Professor & head of Mechanical Engineering Department at R.N.G. Patel Institute of Technology- RNGPIT, Isroli, Bardoli (Since Nov. 2011 to continue). He is also a Vice-president of Gymkhana of RNGPIT since 2011. Visvesmruti (A technical Programme) and Kashish (Sports & Cultural programme) events are being organised in odd and even semester respevtively under Gymkhana every year.

Achivements
Dr. K. B. Rathod is recognised PhD Superviser of GTU, vide circular 8241, dated 27-10-2020 (23rd list). One student is pursuing PhD under him.
Dr. K. B. Rathod completed 4 weeks NPTEL online certification course on " Metal Cutting and Machine Tools" and passed the exam sucessefully.
Dr. K. B. Rathod has reviewed the papers of the reputed journals like Journal of Manufacturing Engineering and Indian journal of Engineering and Material Science.
Published design patent entitled "A fixture for surface roughness testing" this patent has been accepted and published by The Patent office, Govt. of India. (Design No: 392677-001
